+1 to everything that's been said about Openoffice, and also note that if you go into Openoffice writer's Tools/Options page, under Load/Save you can choose to always Load MS Office files into Openoffice & Save Openoffice files into MS Office.

just google microsoft office 2007 blue edition, it may not be legal but it's free

IMO if you want to use it that badly then pay for it.

Otherwise use openoffice.
