and cheers for the heads up on batteryman :D

Any news on your issue tobie? I've got a similar issue but no idea about troubleshooting/mechanics- was it a case of replacing the rectifier in the end?

Re: alternator? rectifier? battery?

Lads, I had something very similar, bike would start 1st time for 2 or 3 weeks, then I would got out & nothing.
Bump start no probs, then it would run fine for maybe 2 days, maybe 2 weeks then not start again.
Even went out one morning, started 1st time, went to George whites on a good long run, had a coffee, went to start the bike nothing!
So, turned out to be the battery was on its way out, sometimes it would hold a charge, sometimes it would not.
Was suggested on here that as time goes on they get a bit of sediment in the bottom, which can short across the plates so it don;t hold charge.
I changed to a new battery & not had any more issues since, that is about 6 months now.
(Got a good deal from Batteryman on here - (Thanks) give him a pm about prices.)
Anyway, my advice before you go changing things to much in the charging circuit, borrow a battery from a mate or something & see how you go.
In my circumstances I just bought a new battery & hey presto did not have to touch anything else, no reg/rec/wires or anything else.
Best of luck chaps.

hello
yeah my bike is fine now.
it was my alarm in the end that was doing it as soon as i ripped that off everything was fine.
i did replace the rectifier however that was before i took the alarm off so i dont know if it made a difference
hope that helps
