Re: drunk rant
I'm having to watch a dead friend do just that. Her 40 year old, mountain-biking,paragliding teacher, marathon runner husband has had MS for ten years, and in the past two has gone downhill. He's now doubly incontinent, and wheelchair bound and can do nothing for himself. Even his speech is failing, and he keeps getting infections. It's heartbreaking to watch, and she's really struggling alone, he's 6 4" and she's 5 5", and its awful for her to shower him alone.
If it happened to my husband, yes of course I'd be there, but I think watching a head over heels in love couple turning into a carer and dependent is possibly one of the saddest things I've ever seen. I hope I never have to do it. |

The trouble with that is the fact by the time you are ready to go you often are incapable. That's why I want to see assisted suicide legalised. |
Re: drunk rant
I honestly dont know. My dad had a brain tumour removed 5 years ago. He now does not recognise anyone, cant do anything for himself, my mum has no life and is only 63 and yet she carries on. I would be tempted to put a pillow over his face. It depends on the disability. Physical I could cope with more than mental. But then I know Im a selfish person and need to think about the kids and what sort of life my partner would have. If it was me and I was left like a veg I would want to be able to go.
