Re: No handed kneedown, is it possible?
I would have thought it was probably impossible or at least it would be for such a short period of time before you'd have to grab the bar again to make it pointless.
I have gotten my knee down with one hand which is quit easy and i'm no rossi. But bikes need rider input to get round a bend, in particular counter steering, and as you can see if you watch bike racing when there is no ride input (i.e. when someone comes off) a bikes natural tendendcy is to sit up right and carry on in a straight line therefore if you have no hands on the handlebars you would have to choices: Lean so far off the bike to make the bike lean over that you risk crashing or take you hands off the bars and enjoy the millisecond of no-hands kneedown before the bike sits upright. http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l2...ngkneedown.jpg |

Less & you fall inwards, more & you do the other thing. Counter steering only initiates the turn and is only used again to alter it. |
Re: No handed kneedown, is it possible?
yeah but how would you get the right amount of throttle with no hands on the bars??

Re: No handed kneedown, is it possible?
I suppose you could start practising this first?

Re: No handed kneedown, is it possible?
As pointed out a friction throttle may be required, or a slowing corner, interesting.
