Re: Fully synthetic in an SV650?

I've used fully and semi in my bike and currently have a mix of the both. No difference or improvement to speak of other then a slightly lighter pocket with the fully.

Feel free to jump down my throat if you feel strongly enough about it. All advice much appreciated. Cheers! :)

If it's 10w40 and JASO MA spec it will work... semi or full

Just a thought. A healthy engine will wear slower with full synth in the sump and maybe last a little longer if you start using it at every change on an old-ish bike, but unless you plan on keeping the bike forever instead of riding it for a couple of years and selling it on for something better then your wallet might be better served with a regular diet of good quality semi.
Don't leave that bottle of oil sitting around on the shelf - use it. The base oil will probably be okay in a year or two, but the additive package may not be.

FWIW, I have been using synthetics ever since I can remember. Amsoil is my first choice and sometimes I'll put Mobil in it if I have to buy oil away from home (it is easy to get), but it seems lately the SV has been getting a lot of Rotella (diesel engine oil but suitable for bikes) because that is what I buy (by the 44) for company machinery.
