Re: Received my insurance renewal.
CN wanted £1200 for my SV, and thats TPF&T, that just seemed a bit OTT for me. CIA got it me for £450, with no excess. I rang CN back and all i got was an awkward silence when i told how cheap i did get it.

Re: Received my insurance renewal.
CN only count up to 5 years no claims, or so the CN lady told me. They were more expensive than Bennetts (and a couple of others). But once I'd added up all the other stuff as standard with CN, it came out the same as or more expensive than CN. Plus, I like talking to someone English, or at least British, and understandable!

Re: Received my insurance renewal.
Just taken insurance out again with e-bike through Quidco. So should get some cash back. Tried Carol Nash they where wanting 3 times as much with Aviva (who they seem to prefer:eek:) eventually came back with a cheaper quote with Equity Red Star but still way above e-bike. Why they did not quote that in the 1st place when I told them what my cheapest quote was? He kept going on about how they know about bikes ie is the end can a four into one system  Not impressed so went with e-bike and at least you can list all the modifications and know everthing is O/K. What I did note is that e-bike wanted an extra £40 for business use which they initially did at same price as SDP. Also had problems with CN when adding/changing bikes mid-term. Old age does help getting a reasonable quote:)

Was with Bennetts for years but they won't insure the bike with gixxer forks, and I got CN to price match my lowest quote (from ebike). In fact CN would insure my SV with all modifications and my VFR for the same price as Bennetts renewal price pre fork upgrade. |

Re: Received my insurance renewal.
When I insured the SV a few months ago CN were one of the most expensive, they wanted nearly £300 for the SV with the mods on it and 9 points, the Tornado RS was only £400!!!

Re: Received my insurance renewal.
CN have been pretty good with me for prices- but I am still getting my no claims built up (2 years now). Was £230 fully comp this year with 2 years. Went up £35 with my points, but as I now don't have them (thanks The Met!), I'll be calling them to sort this out and refund the difference!
Many things are taken into account- locality and your job (if you're a musician, apparently the premium is notably higher becuase your "more likely to ride your bike into a swimming pool" apparently. I expect they don't take into account that musicians are generally less wealthy, therefore cannot afford to take such risks!). |
Re: Received my insurance renewal.
i too am with CN, paid 350 last year FC. the renewal i was sent last week was 570!? i called them and told them to shove it where the sun dont shine.
they rang back and as if by magic lowered it to 290  so im gonna play that figure off against a few other companys to see if it can be beaten ;) |
Re: Received my insurance renewal.
i look at these prices and makes me think mine is very cheap im with bikesure, and mine was something like 120 full come for the year with unlimited miles on it
