TPS setting should be checked whenever the throttle balance is adjusted - not only is that good sense but it says that quite plainly in the makers manual - chapter 4, page 85.
Also in the maintenance schedule it says the TPS is to be set at the first service, (1000Kms/600mls), on the E33* models, however all the relevant bits are the same so why only that one is specified to be adjusted then I'm not sure, I always check.

*i.e. Not the 49 State-alike bikes like ours but the smog control ones.

I think when I get a bike, i`ll take it to bits and check the throttles and TPS while i`m checking it out and waiting on the insurance to come through.
I like taking things to bits, even better when they work afterwards too :)
