Re: Summer Attire
I looked into some new stuff for summer riding recently, but sadly the shop I went to was sold out of the German Paraboots I wanted! (size eight and a half if any one has any for sale)
Carol bought me some heavy duty summer biking trousers and they are lovely on a hot day, although they are black and white DPMs and I look like a streetfighter Magazine reject now, especially when I wear the Marduk top I bought at the gig I went to in January with Nemesis. My only concession to girlyness is my pink and black Weiss jacket which has the warm liner removed and my pink scarf that has black skulls printed on it, again a gift from the wife. I am such a butch looking tart when I am out on the bike! It is funny though when I pull up some where and people think I am a bloke until I take my lid off. The thought of riding in a min skirt is all very nice until I think about what happens if I fall off or drop the bike again. It is hard to get a good tan on road scars, although being a gothic type, I avoid the day star anyway. I want a parasol fitted to my bike! :D |

One question...does it not hurt your feet to change gear wearing flip flops??? I always wonder that.

Mmmm, me in a mini skirt - not a picture I want in my head.
However, me in a one piece leather suit is not pretty either. I look like a S&M Tellytubby |

TTIUWOP :smt084 Sorry, we should not tease, there are moments when we all look a bit silly in our gear. |
Re: Summer Attire
Wear whatever your comfortable in. Some will call ya for wearing a t shirt etc but its your choice. I may pop to shops without full gear sometimes i just throw helmet and gloves on with what ever i'm wearing. I don't dictate what others should wear its there choice and have to suffer consequences.
On holiday in spain i only rode in kevlar jeans and a t shirt. Too bloody hot for leather jacket |
Re: Summer Attire
I assume the OP was actually asking for some advice on proper summer gear.
I've got an RST ventilator jacket. It's a mesh jacket and keeps you pretty cool while still offering some protection. Would still rather wear my leathers though as I just don't feel safe otherwise. It also comes with a waterproof and thermal lining if it gets cold and wet. |

Providing you comply with the law, i.e. you are wearing a helmet (no it wasn't me without a lid on the A1 near the Black Cat r'about last year), its your choice/your life. I still do trainers, jeans, leather jacket and lid just like I did 35 yr ago, although admittedly they are all of a bigger size ;). And equally, sometimes its leather trousers, and others its textiles and boots. |
