On my second set of these and I can't see any reason to try a different tyre. Their grip and consistency on anything but wet grass, ice rinks or canals is just lovely. Oh yes, and they last particularly well too.

My second set are getting fitted on Thursday. I hope they're as good on the thou as they were on the 650!

I have just about worn out my second set. I am getting 9k miles per set and cannot fault grip or feedback. I cannot see me using another type of tyre anytime soon.

I've been reading this section a lot recently after being caught out in the rain and finding out that the tyres the bike came with (Mk1 qualifiers) don't like water very much, maybe this is your answer from Dunlop's website...

"Our acclaimed Multi-Tread (MT) technology enables the use of two different compounds. A harder, tougher rubber in the centre will give excellent durability desired by mile crunchers, while a softer and more 'grippy' compound will satisfy even 1000cc supersport riders when cornering at extreme lean angles."

Roadsmart's are on the short list, although my friendly local tyre fitter is recommending the Bridgestone BT 021 (rates them on his R6) or Avon storm Ultra

all good tires but 021's a old stock being replaced by 023's in april

They are cheaper than the BT's and I recommend them and grips to the edge of the tire

gotta ask, are these the Dunlop BT021's?
If so i personally find them slightly slippy around here but that could be me or the road conditions being shi**y

Re: Dunlop roadsmarts!

bt021's are bridgestones and are the direct competition to the roadsmarts.
If they are trying to slide they sound almost finished

I'd judge it being finished or not on whether it has any tread left...
