Has somebody been watching Saturday Kitchen and their 4 minute tomato soup?

I think these were the tomatoes in the oven when I called at Cheryl and Dan's with no notice last Friday... we were in the caravan at Longleat and went to Lacock for the day, I knew roughly where they live but not precisely, so when in doubt ask in the pub:D We had a few bevvies with them in the pub and then went back to theirs for coffee - thank you for your hospitality, it was great to see you:cool::cool: The smells in the kitchen were fantastic:D and the garage was every biker's dream:cool:

I made a nice Leek and Potato Soup once , From what I can remember I got a bag of Maris Piper spuds , a big bag of Leeks . Chop half the spuds up into cubes basically and put into boiling water , when soft , remove from water and drop into a dry pan , top up with boiling water from kettle to retain heat . Add some vegetable stock or Buillon . Chop the leeks into 1 inch thick portions .... all of it , no skimping . By now the chopped spuds will be soft as anything and almost gone . Drop some garden peas into the mixture , maybe 2 or 3 fistfulls .

Chop the rest of the spuds up into decent slices , and fry the Leeks off in a bit of butter . Whilst this is happening , turn the Potato broth off and use a hand blender to kill the peas and spuds off into the mixture , bang the heat back on and drop the sliced spud and Leek into it , simmer nicely . Season with Cracked Black Pepper , Parsley and drop a dab of cream into it at the end and swirl slowly once . It was tip top and enjoyed by all .

Haha, I saw that...but no...answer below, lol. I was going to do it Friday night, but a very welcome surprise visit from Ed meant we just had the curried butternut squash soup. Not a 4 minute soup either. Well, 2 minutes on the hob, but over an hour in the oven...lol.

Soup, Soup! Love soup.

Mum used to make fantastic soup. All sorts in it, inc a ham hock, or whatever she could lay her hands on. I seem to remember it took about 24hrs to brew.

Ah memories.
