Re: now look after that car officer

From my experience, GMP do not recover cars just because someone has been arrested in circumstances like this, ie, drink drive.

It may be moved if the driver stopped in a dangerous position, but only a short distance and the GMP insurance covers that. Hale Road is a wide, safe road with a 30mph limit for all of it. Having seen the pics of the crash scene, I know what the Cops did wrong, and they could have stopped in any one of three car-parks just before the crash.

From reading the story in The Manchester Evening News, they were waiting for a tow truck. This suggests to me that the car was being seized for some reason, maybe a Sec 165 for no insurance or licence.

A bit like Heather Mills, they haven't got a leg to stand on.

Oh, and Tim, if I let everyone go who tells me they haven't had a drink or a definitely not over the limit, no-one would get arrested.

Pete ;)

Human with responsibilities.

Which they discharged without due care.

I dunno I do think whatever punishment dished out should be eased a bit, they've already done some community service giving us all a good laugh.

Nah, that doesn't cut it I'm afraid! If I did that I could pretty much guarentee the outcome if I did that and I wouldn't have a job left...
