A refrigerator for keeping your sarnies cool in the height of summer.

Re: Ideas for modifications?
Penske rear shock or similar. Only one worth bothering with on the 1st gen... until you sorted that everything else is a waste of money.

Re: Ideas for modifications?
Another vote for rear shock upgrade.

Re: Ideas for modifications?
how much would a new rear shockm cost, or even a decent second hand one. At the moment my final list is
Brake discs for the bike, double bubble screen (Blue), tail tidy, New bulbs, Fender extender, Seat Cowl. Basically how much of that would I have to cut to make the money back so I could afford the rear shock. It is on ny very long today list along with a full leo vincent exhurst system when I can afford them both ;) |
Re: Ideas for modifications?
Have you considered a decent back protector for yourself? Something like that is pretty much guaranteed to get parent buy-in.

Re: Ideas for modifications?
You know that saying ... "The best way to upgrades your bike is to improve your riding skills." Asking your parent to sponsor an advanced riding course like IAM or RoSPA or even a machine control day on a race track, will almost certainly guarantee the funding. You will be amazed how much different the bike will handle, accelerate or break with the same tyres, brake disks and shocks. Plus its a good investment you can take with you on future bikes.
And get a smoked screen. Unless you will be able to colour match it to your bike, any other shade of blue will look cheap and is likely to have the opposite effect. |
Re: Ideas for modifications?
I like the sound of the machine control day and it is something that has been talked about before but I decided that I would do it when the restrictor was off. Has anybody got any experience with the bike control days on the track since that sounds like it could be really helpfull and a realy good laugh however would I need to get my hands on some leathers for it.
