Nice thing about doing it this way is you only have to splice into the trigger supply for the relay, and by using the number plate light supply as soon as you switch the ignition off it switches the relay to off so no more dead batteries.

If you are doing this under your riders seat near the battery, then you might find the positive feed to the rear brake switch is a more convenient location to take a power supply. It is also always-on with the ignition, whereas older bikes have switched lighting, so no lights on = no power from your relay. You should always ride with your lights on IMO, but one day you'll be scratching your head as to why none of your accessories are working, lifting the seat and checking connections and fuses, then you'll realise the lights are switched off.

Nice advice. I was thinking of piggybacking the new distribution board to the existing fuseboard (just to keep everything in the same place), and even possibly making it all a bit neater by using one of the fuse adaptors. I can't find a photo of one at the moment but is a standard blade fuse in shape with a position for adding an extra fuse, and a 10a flex exiting from it. Just replace the existing fuse to a light circuit and the jobs a good-un. Just a pity I can't remember where to get them from! I guess a search though the Demontweeks catalog will come up with one.

Or like you said, off to Maplin's.

Where can you get the relays and distribution board from?

The relay similar to the Stebel Horn relay?
