I have three of each (dont ask why) and the ps3's have had more faults than the xbox's

:S i got mine done by sending it to germany for frizzles by contacting xbox through a support link...

no idea if this applies to the error things you lot are going on about :)

Microsoft cover the console for three years from date of purchase for full RROD and E74 errors. I had mine a week before it E74d and Game swapped it straight out. You could also try this?

Microsoft wont do any warranty repair if the box has been opened for any reason and the op stated that the box has been repaired more than once by a local business.

The only way to get a new one without paying is to buy one from a non gaming shop ie. not game or gamestation as they know their stuff and do a complete gut swap then take the broke one in the new case back to the shop and tell them u want ur money back. Great care is needed to swap all the serial numbers over and warranty stickers and so on coz they are pretty keen on checks

Mine is over the 3 year warranty unfortunately. The repair place said they would put the warranty stickers back on it for me so I could trade it in. But didn't really feel right doing that. Anyway the case is pretty fkd now. Oh well guess I'll just have to get a new one
