I'm sure there are nice suverners (outside suvern orgers who are all nice, obv) but IN MY OWN PERSONAL EXPERIENCE (important disclaimer) the further from London the nicer the people become.

As for Real Ale, what's that town up norf that has several huge breweries (including Coors) because its water is so nice? There's a third, smaller brewer that makes some damned fine lagers and such as well and I can't think of the name of it.

The best beers come from the South, two examples: Hook Norton, Harveys - and that's just the 'H-es'.
Sam Smiths? John Smiths? Be ashamed - be very ashamed.

The North's 'best' brewing water is generally accepted as coming from the famous Yorkshire town of Burton On Trent.

Oh wait... That's in Staffordshire.

Real Ale, Copper Dragon, Tim Taylors, Black sheep(although that smells funny), Theakstons, Elland brewery ales(although not Nettlethrasher, does strange things to men!) the list goes on ...

@dizzy and sid: That's it! Tadcaster! Samuel Smiths! They do that 'Alpine Lager' (known to us in the Waterguard in Cardiff as 'Man In A Box' due to the jolly Bavarian man on the diorama-esque pump) which is dangerous stuff, one of my most stupidly drunken nights ever I attribute wholly to that deceptively strong stuff.

The reason the people up north are happier and more relaxed is because they're having more sex. Everyone knows how easy northern birds are.

Plus you pop a ferret in your trousers and you're going to be smiling.

And as for beer, it has to be continental.

Just been given a load of copper dragon-black gold and moorhouses black cat from the in laws (from cumbria) can't get further south than me without getting your feet wet (don't count isle of (w)****e cos that's foreign- you can't walk there!)
