If you are trying bikes try a triple-----grunt and torque with a tad less engine braking.

Dont know if its useful or not.

As for regretting it, well if you dont try you wont know. Personally I never have. It does everything my SV did just as well if not better.

Thanks a million Fizz, thats exactly what i was looking for. how do u feel about it now after a few years under your belt? Apart from luggage, do u think it would be a comfortable tourer? Have you done long trips on it? I have a real glint in my eye for the 750!

the SV in standard guise is crap but has potential. release that potential and it's and absolute gem of a bike. nice v2 motor that you don't have to 'keep on the boil' with oodles of grunt and forgiving when you mess up.

best advice is to go try as many bikes as possible.

Cheers, i think the potential would cost the guts of a grand if not more! Dilemma!

[QUOTE=Jayneflakes;2603637]I jumped on a Pre V-Tech Viffer recently and was horribly disappointed. The position was awful and the seat felt like a lead plank! The sales guy at Fowlers assured me that this was standard trim and if this is the case, it would have felt like riding a house brick. I am pretty sure it was modded for a short @rse, but they denied it.

My advice would be to try out some other bikes to see what you like. I have just taken delivery of a loan CBF600 and I swear to you that I would have a more exciting time hanging out at an old ladies coffee morning discussing my difficult knitting pattern! Avoid at all costs!

I tried a Kwak twin a while back and it was utterly awsome in ways the SV isn't. My ideal choice would be to have them both, but with four bikes in the garage, we really are running out of space! Might be able to fit an old GPZ in there at a push! ;-)[/

Disappointed to hear that about the VFR, had high hopes for it!
