The annoying thing is, i was parked with the front of my car facing the oncoming traffic.

I have always hated parking on the road anyway so made sure i left the parking light on (the one which was out in the road). The police woman just had to point out that I was parked illegally! Still, hopefully wont make a difference...

If you want a consolation the BMW will be a write off if that the damage to yours.

Will his insurance company even cover his car if he was drunk?

A bit of t cut and it'll be all right. He must have been doing some speed to move the car that far and do that amount of damage

I've thought this before (....when suspicious of someone that knocked me off) but I understand it voids most policies so it's a case of claiming what you can from the motor claims bureau...eventually

Hence why it was really lucky it weren't yours!

some comprehensive policies, Direct Line for sure, cover you in case of an accident with an uninsured driver. i imagine that the hire car company would have a policy similar to this that covers them

Called the legal team if the policy doesn't cover

Drunk drivers insurnace should still pay out on a 3rd party claim by the person (victim) hes crashed into even if they won't fix his own car (BMW)

He was clearly drunk and was asked 3 times by the police woman to stop smoking, im guessing he kept smoking because he knew he was going to have to give a sample.

Sadly the police arrived just as I walked out so no boot action could happen haha.

Yea, mk6 and was lovely to drive. Pain in the ass is I was supposed to be going to Darlington first thing tomorrow morning but the hire company wont release another car until that one is recovered from wherever the police took it! So now I have to mess about and get there late.

F*cking drunk drivers!

And just think if you had bothered to park properly it wouldn't have happened.

So... The car park is full, it's already over flowing on to the road (it's on a country lane) so where do you suggest I park? I had pulled up on to the pavement like everyone else and even bothered to put my parking light on... I'm guessing you have a magic wand in your glovebox that whenever you get in this situation you wave it and a car park suddenly appears...?

Perhaps if the guy hadn't had a drink that evening, this wouldn't have happened either.

What a stupid post.
