went up today myself, picked up a jacket, cap and puncture kit, didn't spend much, but then I didn't really need anything, no rain but cloudy most of the day, good ride there and back mind.

Cheers Mark.

Re: BMF Ride to

Its lost the appeal it had back in the 90's
Maybe its a casualty of the recession?
No Suzuki or Honda presence I found very odd.
Still got my Camo waterproof trousers and tank bag that was the main mission of the day.
The arena events provided a satisfying diversion.

Re: BMF Ride to

I remember my first BMF, even before they moved to Peterborough, must have been the late 70's I guess, it was a motorbike event for bikers, when they moved it stayed the same for a few years, then a concerted effort was made to make it an "event", it got a lot bigger through the early 90's and probably reached it's peak at the end of that dacade, more a family day out for the hobbyist biker, the last couple of years have seen it less busy than before, but still worth going, the auto jumble and bike kit tents are always good for the odd bargain still, but agree it's not what it used to be.

Cheers Mark.

Yes, not the event it was, haven't been for a couple of years now.

Used to like the Saturday night camping & disco

Might have gone, if I hadn't been working

Re: BMF Ride to

I think my last camping weekend there was in 98, I seem to remember lots of heavy metal tribute bands, ending the night on Korean beer and a moped rev'd to distruction in the middle of the night.....

Goood times.
