Re: Tinted head light covers

tinted or coloured in anyway are more a fashion thing you can make the bike lights blend in more (lets face it there are a lot who bolt on blink in any case) and if they are velcro'd on then removing them at night is simple enough, in the past I used them to extend a paintjob over where lights are to a very dramatic effect, depends what you want I suppose :smt102

An example for you

But the purpose of headlight covers in general is stone guards, I have two on the lights on the triumph, a stone may break one (probably not as they are tough) but at £10 it's easily replaced and the light will work fine even when the cover is damaged.

I'm not a fan of them either, they look stupid IMO.

Can't see why headlights look so bad, they are integral with the original design.

Oh well, each to their own.

some of us don't want to "run with the crowd" and prefer to do our own thing, whilst others are into a more conformed look :smt102

personally the one's on the Speed 4 have been a total waste of money, however should a stone get thrown up at any point they will have paid for themselves about 6 times over instantly.

Cheers Mark.

That's fair enough, you paid for it, like I said each to their own.

I wasn't commenting on anyone's bike btw, just generally about the covers.

Can you get clear ones if you just want to save your headlights from stones?

Re: Tinted head light covers

Used to be a fairly common accessory for cars (clear covers/protectors). Have bought them before now and found they were so expensive compared to the lightweight platic most lenses are now they're no longer worth it. When lenses were glass I could see the use, but less so now.

Coloured ones are an MoT failure right? And for those of us with permanently-on lights a solid or vanity cover is a bit pointless and could cause heat build up/lamp failure.

Yellow is ok for mot .oe clear protection ones fine.
But if you have any other type of colour or it bends the beam it would fail.
