Re: Hard Rock Calling on Friday
It was wet and muddy. The smell of woodchips was overpowering but Soundgarden were amazing. Chris Cornell is hot. If only I could have him covered in chocolate custard.

Bruce never fails to deliver, and apart from the usual songs from the current album, there were plenty of nice surprises, with guest appearances from Tom Morrelo on several songs, John Fogarty for another, but the biggest surprise was Sir Paul McCartney for 2 songs at the end! Never to be repeated. On a sour note there was a lot of overly ****ed up people, picking arguments and fights with folk, who were there to see the show and the sound quality wasn't good on the right, so we moved to get away from some of the hassle and watched it on a big screen, where the sound quality was better. I'm glad it wasn't my only Springsteen concert of this year, although the show was one of the best and most interesting, the atmosphere wasn't as good as the others I've been to, not by a long way |

And I hear Westminster council pulled the plug bang on 10.30 last night, even though Bruce and Macca were mid song. This is the same council who turned up with the noise abatement team at McCartney's wedding reception last year. His garden backs onto Lord's and it wasn't us who rang and complained! |

Mucho confusion on stage & in the crowd. Boris was quoted on the radio saying, if Mr Springsteen had come to see him, he would have looked into extending the licence to 11 or 11.30  Doesn't happen on the continent, and the curfew is often ignored. Sounds like a jobs worth somewhere, if I was the Boss, I'd take my concerts elsewhere and my 80,000 fans elsewhere in London to spend their money. |
