Re: new to sv's and bought a dead curvy
what's your location? it sounds to me like you know pretty well what you're doing, but going to see someone like sid squid/rictus (from the soho section, i'm afraid i don't really know anyone from the rest of the country well enough to say they can definately help (though there undoubtedly will be some!! (no offence meant with this comment))). i'm sure if you ask either of them nicely they'll be able to help you/point you in the right direction if you're a fair way away from london.

Re: new to sv's and bought a dead curvy
What was the issue with the spare engine? And why replace the rod(s) on the current engine? Or is the front rod on the current engine damaged?

Re: new to sv's and bought a dead curvy
not sure on the condition of the spare engine but i suspect that the front con rod on the engine in the frame has taken a whack, either way i'd rather be sure than have to rip it all down and build it up again, the valve has been snapped off so i guess that the timing was a bit wrong, and the piston crown and cylinder head have taken a proper twunting so it stands to reason that the rod might be bent but i'll check.
