Does anyone else's wife get up at 5.30am to make them a packed lunch? Wrap filled with home made jerk chicken, grated cheddar, cherry tomatoes and spinach with some crisps and a home made cookie. Or home made rolls with ham and salad and a slice of home made Victoria sponge. Plus fruit from the local farm. That's what Mr LPH gets even if I've got home from work after midnight.

I've been known to make a sandwich for YC on occasion but only if pushed for time and I'm feeling generous, the rest of the time he knows exactly where the sandwich making materials are and has perfectly capable limbs with which to assist the operation. And there's usually cake in the tin which again he knows the location of and as far as I'm aware he's yet to need me to open it for him for fear of him breaking a nail.

Tuna, low fat mayo or cottage cheese, 1 whole lemon, handful of jalapenos, olives, cayenne pepper, touch of olive oil = awesome spicy tuna. Store in fridge overnight, take to work with some wraps/lettuce, salad, pasta whatever really. I eat loads of this, tastes so good it can't be healthy, but it is!

I managed to get my lunch down to 82p a day for a few months, Lidl own brand soup and a rye bread roll.

I'm currently losing weight which is great, and saving money.

That made me laugh, the vision of YC struggling to get a cake tin open ;)

As for my lunch, I normally skip lunch. Job I was on last week there was a tesco petrol station just down the road so was getting the £3 meal deal some days. Or if I can be bothered I'll just make a sandwich to take with me.

Yesterday I was at home for lunch so it was pasta salad

Occasionally I'll bring in leftovers, but usually go to one of the places near work. Thai red curry, Burrito or rice and chicken. Its quite expensive about 5-6 a day, but at least now I have free vend drinks. In my last job i could easily spend up to £10 in a day keeping myself fed and watered. This was also when I was cycling to work every day and putting in a 10k run every other day.

I loose about 14-16 hours of my day to work, I don't really want to spend the hour or two i get to myself making a sandwich.

Sandwiches, cereal bar, sauage roll, cake, apple, kiwi/grapes/orange and a bit of cake.

Very boring but it costs probably £1.50 a day all in all.

I've been trying to get my lunch spend down to £2 / day, mostly because spending £100 a month on lunch just seems ridiculous and I'd rather spend it on something more interesting. We get free soft drinks, coffee and tea at work which helps. My coffee habit alone used to set me back £4-5 a day!
