We've had loads of £10 wins over the years, one £80 win, I play scratch cards a fair bit and have won loads of £10's and £20's.

I have a peg board up in our home 'office' and it has loads of scratch cards pegged up with various amounts waiting to be cashed in, must be £60 plus on them.

Had lots of minimums + a few up to £120. Very first scratchy was a £50. Mrs w get's 3 scratchies a week as part of a family tradition with her mum. They've had plenty of small wins.

If I won the jackpot I'd stop working weekends...

Our friends won a million on a scratchcard and they spunked the lot! Matching Audis, trips with friends to Vegas, buying a big house that was a money pit. Now they've got nothing left except the house which still needs work doing on it that they can't afford and they are both back working behind the bar in the local pub earning minimum wage. They said they had fun while it lasted, personally I'd have invested it a bit more wisely and made sure there was enough set aside to put my kids through school and uni with a nice holiday every few years.

Thats an interesting story LPH, I'm wondering how many winners suddenly run out of money because it seems such a large sum that you can't spend it.

I'd like to think I'd be responsible if I won, I wouldn't say "it won't change me" or the usual stuff, I'd just have a few treats and make the rest work for me giving me another income.
With interest rates as they are, I wonder how much you'd need to win to have a decent (say £30K) income from it.

My brothers father in law Black Jack won £105,800. He takes the cheque into the local Barclays and says

Could I have the 800 as the wife would like to do a bit of shopping.

I am sorry sir, you will have to wait for the cheque to clear.

"GET ME THE F*CKING MANAGER" screams 6ft 6 of angry black man. The manager takes one look at the cheque and says why not take the £5,800 and have a proper shop.

He invested his little win wisely with the local turf accountant. Bought his adapt council house for his son with spina bifida. dumped the wife and sodded off back to the sun. With what the bookie didn't get he built a house and now lives on his UK pension in the caribbean.

His win meant he could go back home happy.

The odd minimum win every six months or so and one £40ish for four numbers a couple of years ago. Had a £50 Premium Bond win when I was about 6 and even though I still have the bonds (christening presents) I've never won anything on them since.
