In the uk? Think your figures are a bit out there dude, triumph sales up by 26% last year, Honda didn't even get close.

In fact, I find it hard to believe that Honda sold 12.5 million units worldwide in a year.

there are lies dam lies and statistics.and you can find all of the above on the net, also found these statistics
"In its report, Honda forecasts making 16.6 million units for its 2012 fiscal year, which is 1.5 million more units than the company sold last year. Meanwhile JAMA lists motorcycle production in Japan between the various manufacturers as the following: Honda 107,695, Suzuki 78,452, Yamaha 91,142, Kawasaki 40,662 – for a total of 317,951 units produced in 2012. The likely distinction between the two figures is the differentiation of “units” and “motorcycles” between Honda and JAMA."
so the original figure i gave look like it is wrong, although the figures quoted above are for production in japan, and honda does produce bikes elsewhare

then there is this taken from a honda web site

Worldwide, Honda had its best first quarter ever, in terms of sales. Pumping out 3.456 million motorcycles worldwide in Q1 2012, Big Red is up 18% over Q1 2011 (it is important to note that Honda includes scooters, ATV’s, and side-by-sides in its “motorcycle” figures). With Asia accounting for 2.741 million of the units sold in Q1 (79% of total sales), it is clear to see where the growth opportunities in the industry are located. Honda’s worldwide motorcycle sales topped 12.559 million units for the 2011 fiscal year.

Get some trident cans and it sounds awesome, ;)

+1

Just sold mine after 4 years, 13000miles 2009 ABS model, got £5k for it in part ex for a new Explorer. Dealer now have it up for £6k.

If the 2007 model has full service history then I reckon about £3.5k is probably a fair price.

A recent survey showed that 46.35% of statistics are made up, whilst the remaining 57.65% are inaccurate.

Was just going to say spot on with the pricing when you said 4k but then noticed you'd changed it to 3.5k. It has got full service history and from what I've seen in relation to prices it seemed reasonably priced, although I have seen almost the same model with less mileage for 3.8k.

Re: Triumph Sprint ST 1050 opinions please.

I changed it when I thought about what I got for mine, bearing in mind mine was 2 years younger with panniers, the abs model, and it needed the big service (quoted at £550!). However, my dealer was very "accommodating" when doing the deal on the Exp, so over allowed a bit on the part ex.

Even at £4k, you would still be getting an awesome bike for the money

Re: Triumph Sprint ST 1050 opinions please.

There are loads of good mileage ST's around, you'll probably find a slightly newer one for £4k.

The 2007 model was when they changed to a steel tank, so I'd personally make sure it had one rather than the plastic one.

Re: Triumph Sprint ST 1050 opinions please.

The St 1050 is a good machine, reliable and fun as DT said 200+ miles to a tank and 500+ miles in a day without fuss.

It can be hustled round the lanes or used to eat up the motorway, I have Ohlins suspension on mine and a Corbin seat as the way the OEM seat goes on and off is a pain.
