The waiting thing is a bit stupid I think if he was to insure it today and then give me those details would the insurance check the dates and times to see if he was insured at the time of the accident.

There isn't a great deal of damage to the wifes car and I could easy ort it myself if need be but I don't like the idea that I could be letting him carry on driving without insurance.
Still I will do what the police say and be back down the station if I here nothing...
