Re: Embarassing moments with the bike
I've also done the disc lock one although it was on my 125 so I managed to keep it upright.
Another one was I got to the end of my road, about 50 metres from my house, the engine died and I just toppled over! That's about it for me |
Re: Embarassing moments with the bike
I paid for my fuel in the petrol station then moved my bike forwards so the next bike could fill up, must have knocked the sidestand when I moved it as I was putting my gloves on when the sidestand snapped up and the bike fell over, alarm wailing whilst I picked the bike up then pulled my gloves of to get the key out of the ignition to stop the alarm, petrol station was pack, crash bungs paid for themselves at that point though!

Re: Embarassing moments with the bike
Hong, I have the solution for you. (The basket is instead of a tank bag so you won't topple over)

Re: Embarassing moments with the bike
1) Locked the front on my first DAS lesson (start as I mean to go on..) - to be fair it was wet and he asked me to do an emergency stop so grabbed a full hand of front brake.
2) Went down the wrong road when heading to the dentist, went to turn round but stopped to let a car past, foot slipped on wet leaves and dropped the bike 3) Parked up outside the office, bike was too far away from the ground anchor, so picked the bike up walked forward a foot and must have moved the stand slightly. Dropped the bike with half my colleagues looking at me. Bent the gear lever, clutch and snapped the indicator. Snapped the gear lever trying to bend it back so ended up having to be recovered home. |
Re: Embarassing moments with the bike
Doing a massive wheelie almost through the rear windscreen of a new colleague going through the barriers in the company car park.
Had my headphones on and the iPod had just switched to a different album at much higher volume. It was Meatloaf, as it happens. |

Re: Embarassing moments with the bike
Me and Mr LPH do ride the bikes along byways when we're out. 2 weeks ago he pulled up at the start of a track, not a byway, big sign saying not suitable for vehicles, another saying ford. He says shall we ride it, it looks dodgy so I say no but off he goes. I try to follow. It's not a track but a river bed. 50 metres along I stop, no hard ground so I can't put the stand down, feet are sinking and I have to lie the bike down before it lands on me. Engine bars take the weight no problem. No sign of Stu as he'd shot off. Turns out he'd only got just round the bend before hitting worse quicksand type stuff and dropped his bike. Mine was more a controlled parking on its side! Moral of the story, in future I lead.
