Cork's in the threads and end.
powder coating is applied by opposing elecrical charges and the powder then sticks to the item being coated, it is then baked in an oven until finished. they are not dipped like a few people seem to think. it is as it says a powder coating.
if they are prepped and coated correctly and you don't chip the finish it should last many many years.
