Thanks for all of your comments.

Work were kind enough to give me the day off, so I've been to the cop shop and reported it and phoned Norwich Union. I've a £350 excess which is a real pain in the backside. If it's not recovered (which I doubt) then I might consider getting a Triumph. The new Speed Twipple looks good but isn't going to be available until March. My JMV bellypan has just arrived and I was going to get it painted this weekend. So there may be a very nice, but unpainted, bellypan up for sale in a couple of months.

For everyone's future awareness, what security did you have on it?

Very sorry to hear that mate, a horrible feeling I'm sure many of us here have shared at some point, unfortunately.

The police just phoned and it's been found, not far from where I live, but at the bottom of a brook  I'm trying to phone Norwich Union to get them to send someone out to recover it.

I don't think much of theives, but I understand why someone would steal a bike to ride,or part out or sell complete. But stealing a bike to waste it in a brook :?

I just hope your insurance calls it a total loss, I would never want an engine that has been submerged

Police think that they took it to joyride and either lost control on the bank, in the dark, or dumped it after they'd finished.

My condolances bout the bike,
i cant believe the oradacity of thieves, i know how it feels but i was lucky to get mine back with relativly little damage.

Do hope it all gets sorted, mine is permanently bolted to the ground, wouldnt stop them if they wanted it but means i can sleep at night.

All the best with gettin it sorted.

Alex
