I do comute from Newbury to London every day. I have my oxford sports tank bag fully expanded and don't have any problems wit the wind and that's with the throttle wide open.

not kidding. There was a helmet in there at the time. Almost knocked meself out. Several times. Maybe riding 200 miles to give a mate a pillion ride on my new bike wasn't a good idea. Hindsight eh...

I'm kind of going off the whole tank bag thing... I only carry light stuff day to day and I wear a back protector, so I might go back to rucksacks. I just find it very irritating when it stops me from tucking in out of the rain (or worse, mist, since getting right behind the screen's impossible even with teh Baglux bag collapsed) or getting forwards and hanging off like a gibbon, as I'm now starting to do. So after I finally get my spray job done, if the baglux cover looks as bad as I think it might I might just give it up. Means leaving the Hideous Rack on more of the time though.

Oh aye, there's the alternative nobody's mentioned, Renntec Sportsracks... Can't carry much weight, but they make carrying luggage or shopping so much easier. On the downside, vey very ugly.

Another one which I'm msessing with is a rear seat with no cover or gel pad- just the plastic and lock. Gives a flatter surface, ideal for bags. Looks worse than a Sportrack.

I have an Oxford humpback tankbag, perfect. Comes with loads of bits and the magnets are strong.

Plus Hein Gericke are doing them so cheaply!!
