Why should not needing one ever be used as an excuse not to get one?

I've got half a dozen fitting kits for a SV650S K2 sitting right here. Along with a selection of dampers in various colours.

Best get working on that story...

They are very cool... Out of curiosity, how do these work out with front end swaps? I saw Zoran had used one on an old frame/GSXR front but he's a bit handy... How would the average hamfisted yokel work that out?

Depends what you put in as the repalcement front end...

As they do fitting kits for GSXRs, R1s, etc. I'm sur we could work something out.

I've been thinking about making a SuperTwins bike to go with my MiniTwins one. I reckon a 750cc fuel injected SV650 engine in a K3 frame with GSXR1000 front end (incl. radial callipers) would be quite interesting.

Can I have a go? :)

Why thou front end? Showas on the 750 are supposed to be better... Cheaper too! Not that I've been looking or anything you understand :^o

Getting a bit off topic here so I'll drop in another comment on how the steering damper can be reused with a different fitting kit on another bike.

Hadn't heard that about the 750s but to be honest if it's for a race bike the standard internals will end up either in the bin or being dramatically reworked so...

Had a new shipment of the K3/K4 fitting kits arrive yesterday.

Prices will remain at 269 pounds until the end of February whne it will revert to 299 pounds.

One thing to note, if you have fitted a thick top yoke protector, such as the Suzuki one, then the damper mount probably won't fit. Think yoke protectors *should* be okay.

With my poor english understanding, I can't quite figure out where this goes. Do you have a picture with the damper fitted?

Last summer I experienced a kind of wobble in high speeds. I thought it was the top box (top box haters can now comment :wink: ) catching the turbulence from my body, and slightly swinging the bike from side to side. Is the steering damper somewhat connected to this?

This is a slightly older design damper and fitting kit but you get the idea. The short arm is is now black and the dampers body has been updated since this photo.
