get rid of the brown/orange bits from the bike... Have you seen how good they look in all black. hmmm SWEET!!!
But if you must do the wheels get em powdercoated to match... ESP in Glasgow did a great job for me, remember the more you do the cheaper it becomes... the price is in the cooking if you know what I mean ... I got a front wheel powder coated and it was perfect, till I stupidly put wonderwheels on it, hey its still roundish and has a tyre what more do you want... |
Style-police no no

Just had a discussion with the owner of Bike F/X who are a specialist bike body repair and paintwork outfit. (They have just painted a tail section for me and called to tell me it was ready).
Poweder coating gives a more durable finish and can be laquered to give a "painted" look. However, it's almost impossible for a powder coating to be colour matched (which I think I knew anyway) so getting the same amber colour will be very unlikely. Painting wheels is a bit cheaper and obviously allows a better colour match. The problem is the durability, and it is easy for the wheels to get chipped during tyre changes (which are quite frequent on my bike!) so I'm now having 2nd thoughts.... . |
My ability with Photoshop is not particularly good, but here is an impression.... And now I'm definately not sure :?

i think it looks top. go for it :)

I don't like it... Better with black, maybe with red rim tape? Gold wheels could look good too.
