I'd say its been mostly new riders having the off's but yeah a few other types too, as the site gets more members bound to get a higher proportion really

On the other hand, Northwind hasn't come off too often recently! :P

It might be the sunny weather has encouraged people (both riders and drivers) to take more risks. My concentration hasn't been good for the last few days and I've made a few stupid mistakes on the bike which I wouldn't normally do. It's not inexperience, as I've been riding most days in London for 12 years. I've no idea why my riding's been so cr@p recently, but I'm trying to counter it by relaxing and trying to ride smooter.

Part of it might also be that this board has a friendly welcoming nature overall, and encourages people to be honest about thier mistakes.

There are some forums where you'd never admit to having just 'dropped' your bike. Whereas here, you'll get sympathy, advice and offers of spare gear levers  ...

... OK, some will point and laugh, but then be offering spare parts with the next breath.

I'd say it's a lot more dozy car drivers daydreaming in this warm weather about what they'll be doing when they get home, etc. and then failing to check mirrors, indicate or pay much attention to the road. At least, that's what I saw a huge increase in, in the weeks leading up to one of them taking me out.

And lets not forget lady pedestrians in shorter skirts!

i think if i remmeber correctly the same thing was said last summer.

maybe its just the change from winter to summer and the amount of riding that goes with it. there doesnt seem to be more off's this summer than last years, to me anyway.

but then i did have 2 myself :?

I don't think there are any more this year than last.

But saying that there are far more off's on this list than on any other forum I look at... :(
