I swapped the plugs round, but its still the back cylinder which is having 'issues'.
Seems the idle could be alittle low then... but doesn't explain its temperamental issues on 'starting'. Why Sudoxe, have you helped someone in the past in the premature demise of their machine?? :o |

If you know someone who has a compression tester, then do one on the rear cylinder. This will tell you if its anything serious with the piston/oil seals. If this shows normal, then i would look at the ignition lead, then the ECU. You could have bent a valve :? |
its all getting a bit complicated for me now... |

A comprssion tester is a thing that you screw into the spark plug hole that has a dial on the top. This will see if the cylinder is compressing to the proper ammount, something that it wouldnt do if you had a hole in your piston, or a blown pison seal. The plag leads are the things that connect the coil to the plug (Could be breaking down when it gets hot) The ECU controls all the fuel and sparking arangements. Located under the pillion seat. |
Might be a faulty injector, or injector connection.

.... hhmmm so much to check ....
Think i'll have to take it to a dealer, as when it starts getting to ECU probs and Cylinder pressures I don't have the tools or expertise. I'll check the injectors again, and all the connections... and hope its somethign simple. Otherwise... Another way round the problem ... If there is anybody out there who really loves to 'ticker/mend' bikes... If the answer is YES then read on... The golden opportunity has arisen for you too take control of a bike which needs your TLC. So you can get rid of your 'working' bike and swap it for one which has a problem or two for you to fix. While your fixing my bike, I promise to do my best to add some new problems to your own bike, so you can again receive back another 'project' machine!!! |

But it's all good fun, many an hour spent with both sid_squid and rictus and many others have helped me improve my spannering and tinkering, and the magic of the machine has demystified a little. My engine has pistons, cams, oil feeds etc now and not smoke and mirrors  Cheers guys :grouphug: |
