If you do have a rucksack only every have soft items like clothes in it.

If you can get a tank bag and carry things in there.

Kriega are very good, but are not completely waterproof. They do sell a waterproof inner bag for laptops though.

The LIDL chain fits under the seat.

As to the rucksack, I currently use a GOLA one (maybe fake) which I
bought from a local stall for £8.99. I think it satisfies all your
requirements.

I personally would worry about putting a chain under the seat. if youve replaced the fender you'll know that that plastic base isnt held on by much at all.
having said that Ive not heard of anyones boot bottom falling out.

I have a hamicad on my bike and cut out 2 bits of black cd cases to cover up some small gaps the Hamicad leaves. The bits were attached to the hamicad using bolts and they are also supporting the underside so it actually lends more support and i have had no probs carrying a oxford hardcore chain almosr every day

Seriously though, I'd never thought of that... :shock: I only keep the toolbag, a disposable camera (maybe a first aid kit if i can find a small one) and a disk lock under my seat though.

I have one of these but find the concave back created by the back system makes it very difficult to fit much in especially flat items like files and laptops.

whatever you do avoid the Cargo endurance range. they fall appart amazingly quickly im on my second back in 9 months and this one has started falling appart too.
