I watched a programe recently (think it was 5th Gear).

They put petrol in a diesel car, ran it till it stopped. Topped up with diesel, got it started, then he done another 750 miles. It was fine.

He also put diesel in a petrol car. Worked ok, stuttered every so often, then eventually stopped.

Again, put 5 litres of petrol in it, 5 mins later, it was fine again.

Drain it if you can, but if you can't, run out the juice thats in there, then fill it up with petrol, it should be fine.

Pour coke on the spillage and leave it for a while. When you wash the coke away it should remove the spilt fuel stain.

The new breed of diseasel (ie ones with a common rail injection system) run at a very high pressure, and actually use the diesel to act as a lubricant for the bearings of the fuel pump, so you are less likely to get away with it. Having said that, one of my idiot neighbours has done this 3 times to her landrover disco, and it's still going

(she is the one that once started it up at the same time I started the bike - she turned it off in a hurry thinking there was something wrong with it :twisted: )

As I went round a roundabout outside of Welshpool on Sunday I heard/felt a very strange noise - like brake squeal, but worse. Was very concerned for a couple of seconds - until I spotted the steam-train on the line running beside the road - the noise was its whistle :-)

Basics Diesel is a light oil so you are running on a two stroke mixture which will
sod up your plugs and can foul up valves and exhausts Drain as much as you possibly can out and fill with the highest octane petrol you can get as this burns hotter and will help to clear what residue of diesel is left Remember the more clean fuel u add the less contamination . your next tank of fuel should be OK BUT THRASH IT A BIT[not being silly] and burn /shift the carbon deposits If you want to go the whole hog get an injector additive/cleaner for the second tank of fuel

By the way JEYES FLUID is also good for the patio
