There's not many of us and it's not like you can carry a lot of shopping home.

you've not been shopping with me then. :P

I can get loads on the SV. But then I do have a topbox, tailpack, panniers, tank bag and rucksack. Comes in handy for doing the christmas shop, especially when combined with a Pan Europeans storage capacity. :D

I live very close to Brent Cross, so often shop there. I'll pop in on my way home from work to quickly buy things. If they start charging for parking, then I'd probably go somewhere else instead.

I can't see anywhere on the web site that mentions bikes being included in the parking charges. Who told you that bikes would be charged too?

It's very unusual for there to be charges for bike parking in London and we don't really want anywhere to start setting precedents.

According to our local paper, the rationale behind the charges is to stop people from parking there for long periods (i.e. leaving their car there and getting the tube into work). If this is true, then why not have the first two hours free and then charge after that?

Resulting mental image: moving luggage with bike wheels and a helmet on top.

I worked at BrentX for 20 years and am surprised they never introduced a parking tariff before now. It is a nightmare with traffic at busy times of the year and i just do not bother going anymore.....too many bad memories of my old jobs as well

Trust me, I have my sources. - Actually just ask at the promo stand they have, plus all the shop staff have been told this

What, and pay more? Or just abandon your bike in the street?

Please join me then, by advocating either free parking on environmental and congestion grounds, or a minimal charge but provide lockers, ground anchors and DECENT security! There is a link on their website to leave comments!

Now that is costly, stressful and time wasting - and that makes no comment on the shops!

Saw a mate today who works in John Lewis Brent x.....there was an annoucment last Thursday.....all workers will be charged 5 quid a day to park!!!!!!! Managing directors from various big stores have complained to the owners of BrentX but it seems as from next year it will cost 100 quid a month to park there for workers and John Lewis is not footing any of the bill for it's workers .....nothing was said about motorbikes though
