:shock: But around 10 years ago, a decision was reached between the companies to standardise pressures so that most bikes can run on the same no matter what tyres they're on. That standard is 36psi at the front and 42psi at the rear.

If in doubt I'd go with the 33/36, however saying that it's all about tyre feedback, if you don't know what it is then don't mess with it, if you do the you'll know where to go from there, keep an eye on the way the tyre wears, if you find it's cupping add a bit more or if it's squaring off take a little out.
On getting a new (to me) make or model of tyre I always start from there, sometimes it's miles out and sometimes it's spot on, It's down to the right feel and that's really hard to get across. Cheers Mark. |

Anybody tried those valve caps which show red when pressure is low ? I find it awkward to read a conventional gauge.

When I spoke to Bridgestone they recommended 36/42 in order to alleviate squaring the rear on the SV and that is also the pressure Triumph suggest for the same tyre[BT O2O] Having done 6500 miles on the current rear and it is still good for another 2500/3000. Like Rictus says it is how YOU
sense the feedback so playing around with a few p.s.i up and down gives a different feel to the tyre |
