I thought the dog one was funny. the second one I think was just plain cruel. I mean what the hell was the point in that, apart from having some sadistic fun :?: :?

looks like they're throwing the cat against the wall!
that's not good - gravity or no gravity! |
What do you expect from the same people who shot apes into space to never be seen again. :(
It looks like the guy is trying to see if the cat will try to hold onto the wall, without gravity to tell it that it's a vertical surface - but I can actually see a certain point to it... ... if every action has and equal and opposite reaction, in a weightless environment you just drift in whatever direction your original force sends you. There is nothing to influence your trajectory - but the cat can still manage to turn. Independant of an external influence. You can see when it is drifting towards the 'floor' it twists and changes it's bodily direction - though this does end up in an ever increasing spin (and getting wrapped up in it's own lead by the looks). So cruel, yes  , and yeah, eversoslightly initially giggle inducing. But I can actually potentially see some value to space research, astronaut training/skills/possibilties etc. How the hell do cats manage to do that? And once you take gravity out ot the mix it's even more fascinating. :?: |
Talking of funny dog clips, have a look at this:
