Our boiler is in our garage, not had a problem with bikes and fuel in there with it.

The boiler, if a newish one, will be room sealed and no leakage should occur. Make sure it's been serviced and has no dark discolouration around the seals.

Just had a quote from a very reputable Corgi registered company to put a gas fired heater in my garage, the guy who did the quote is a biker and has one in his garage for his own bikes

although some of the regs in scotland may differ from down south, I honestly think the guy would have said if it constituted any danger.

He also said that putting the boiler in there would not be an issue, only thing he mentioned was that if you dont want your heating on at night in the house then by default, you dont have heat in the garage, thats why he said the gas fired heater was a better option.

I was even thinking of putting a wood fired stove in the garage to cut down on the leccy bills, have been told that as long as its properly flued and vented then it should be ok and reasonably safe as long as theres no flammable stuff lying around etc

Thanks for all the replies, I feel reassured.
I don't want to keep the garage warm, just be able to store the bikes, fuel and oil etc safely in there, and from what you all tell me, its no problem.
