Re: Bad Day Out
Ohhh now this has touched a nerve.
NEVER EVER go out on the bike when you are fuming. It can always so very easily go wrong. My very best friend had an argument with his girlfriend and stormed out and went for a ride on his bike. The next time anyone saw him was at his funeral. He got as far as the end of his road when he lost control and hit lamp post. Please, anyone out there who thinks they will go and have a ride to clear their head. Go for a nice long walk instead. Please. |

Hay Cuffy, I may be behind the times but is REALLY good to see you haven't left us xxxxxxxxx nice one :D ;) |
Re: Bad Day Out
I'm glad you're ok. As people have already said it's not safe to be on the road if your mind's off somewhere else.
Car included. Ages ago, I managed to scrape the right wing of the car coming out of the garage when I was feeling depressed about uni. I realised I wasn't in a fit state to think properly & I'd be a danger on the road to others, so didn't drive. Cuffy, glad you're back :) |
Re: Bad Day Out
insurance route or not? that could well be the end of your sv if you go the insurance way. sorry to hear your news. :(

Re: Bad Day Out
Ouch! Glad you're ok though mate.

Re: Bad Day Out
It won;t be an insurance job as I'm TPF&T. I wouldn;t claim anyway as I'd rather keep my no claims and fix the bike up myself.
Cheers Husky. I'll take a look locally for bits but there doesn;t seemt o much about here. £300 isn;t too bad but I still need clip ons, switch gear, a rear brake lever, indicators and an exhaust on top of that:o |
Re: Bad Day Out
Heed - you are a lucky, lucky man. My drop was at least 20mph less than that, my SV was a write off, I spent a week in hospital, six weeks on crutches, and two and a half months off work:crutches: :crutches: :crutches:
The row with Mrs came later - when I announced I was getting back on a bike:rolleyes: I'm glad you're not badly hurt:D |
Re: Bad Day Out
Yup - you're lucky to walk away unscathed even if the bike's a bit of a mess. Hope you're back on the road soon (and talking to your wife sooner).
