If you intend to do any night riding out of town I would avoid the naked, as a wise man once said:-

To be honest, the acelleration/top end is far more to do with the different gear ratio's than it is the fairing.
aye baph i dint mention that! kinda implied that they have diff gear ratios but that was the reason suzuki did it like, cheers for correctin us tho!

I wish I use it for everything - streets, highway, track  But the major purpose will be probably cruising city streets on evenings and weekends.
but if your just gonna be cruisin round the streets and no twisty bashin or high speed cruisin by all means go for the N version, its what it suits best!

Ive just bought the sport model with the fairing lowers. Ive just come from a naked bandit and its great not getting off the bike after a long run or getting a bit of a wiggle on and having to put you shoulders back in the sockets.
At the end of the day its your choice, the looks may vary but how comfortable are you ?

Always prefered the looks of the S, but couldn't live with the riding position. Believe me the naked is much more bearable for any length of time. Also, that screen (on the S) won't do a lot to keep the wind off. The naked works much better below 90 and has better visibility in traffic as its much easier to look around.

I pick up my new naked on Saturday, after a spell on a Bandit 650S and a couple of months on four wheels in 2005. Used to have a k3 naked sv, which I loved. Been looking for an excuse to go back, and the 0% deal, plus the big discounts you can get on the nakeds swung it for me. Either way you can't lose, just junk that stock can ASAP.

I have an 06 S that I use to go back and forth to work on. the clip ons are nothing to brag about so I purchased a factory trippl tree with clamps for the standard model. I added super bike handle bars. So I have the perfomrance, protection and look with the comfort.
