pete

I would second that 100% I have had my full car licence since 1996 (passed 1 month before the theory came in LOL:D ) and bike since 2005, so even if i got 9 points from speeding on my bike (othere than the cost of insurance) it wont make any diff to me i can still drive and ride.

It counts from the start of the first full licence you obtained!!

If on the other hand you have not had either longer than 2 years, bad luck mate, better dust off those theory books:(

Damn, this is a blow for you. 30mph on a dual-carrigway type road is, IMO, a bit too slow, and not only that, people do often go faster because they think it is a faster road.

I'm not sure what you can do but yea, request a check that the instruments where calibrated and all sorts. I seem to recal lots of articles in MCN (care!) about the accuracy of these mobile camera's when used in motorcycles.

I've only had my lisence for about 9 months now, and I am very paranoid about building up points to the point that I obey mostly all speed limits!

Good luck,

Matt

Firstly, sorry to hear about your points. A friend of mine lost his licence in the same circumstances last year, has just got it back again now though.

Essentially if you are unable to avoid the points and the motorcycle test is the first type of driving test which you've takenin this country (i.e. you didn't pass your car test prior to that) then I'm afraid you will lose your licence.

The process for reapplying is correct, though I'm not 100% sure whether you keep the points on your licence.

Good luck getting it sorted anyway!

Cheers for your help guys, as per Pepipoo i'm probably going to start by asking for some pics to "help me identify the rider" and see if they bring anything to light i could use, and if not take the PACE route and see where it leads, if nothing else it means i get to carry on riding for at least 2 or 3 months before having to deal with it. Cheers again for your support ;) Oh, and the bike license was my fisrt full license, i guess that fact that i was riding on a CBT for a year before that doesnt help me at all...

Stick to posted speed limits and you won't go too far wrong. There are plenty of roads without posted limits -national speed limits (NSL). Not that I'm advocating breaking any limits, y'unnerstand.
