Re: New Z6 scrubbed in.

Just got my Z6's fitted today at Wraysbury's in Chertsey- cheers for the recommendation Gmonsta! Good bunch of lads. Even taking it easy, I am amazed at the difference in feel- not having to lean over the sharp angles of my desperately squared off back tyre felt amazing- so responsive. My Suzi actually steers now!

Luckily, considering the state of the old tyres I made it home last night, to work this morning and to Chertsey for the change with no incidents- police, off or otherwise!!

Right- I'm gonna stop gushing now and start thinking of dinner.... :D

Well put it this way. My @rse does not move from my seat. Not sure if the pegs would scrape or not. I have aftermarket ones fitted that have a chamfered edge to them and no hero blob. I think to get my pegs down now I would be sliding sideways and this is something that I have had enough of doing so try to avoid it now.

Oh and the place in Reading is called Ride in Tyres. Owners name is Mark.

Got my Z6's there last Sept.. he's a top bloke, and pretty cheap too. Even gives the wheels a good clean :D

He even repaired a puncture in my rear tyre with his left arm in a cast from when he felloff his race bike.

He only needed help getting it on and off the paddock stand.

The rest was done with one hand and one elbow.

I'd say that's a resounding vote of confidence from all that use him then

The tyre fitters I got to is Feltham Tyre Centre, they're good guys and offer free coffee while you wait!!:D The Bike specialist has only got 1 arm following a nasty off but he does the full job from start to finish! Top bloke and very helpful.:thumright:

I thought it was 100 miles to scrub 'em in. That's what the tyre man tells me at least.

I can second BigApe's recommendation of Ride in Bike Tyres and Z6's.
I prefer the Z6's over the previous BT010/020 combination the bike feels well and truly planted.

It's probably best to phone Mark first for tyres, he can be quite busy.

(I've got no connection with Ride in Bike Tyres by the way)

I'm getting close to the edge on my Z6's on a naked (which has lower pegs) with 1inch lowered and shortened pegs, could get rid of the chicken strips but it's the brake and gear lever that will touch down first

Are these tyres narrower than BT020's? I have noticed that there is quite a gap between tyre and chain.
