:why: ?

Similar experiance, when i was 20/21(2000/2001) there were some 2 bed appartments going for £85K in weymouth right oposite the marina. there was an offer on to pay the 5% deposit as well that weekend.

I ummed and ahhed about it and against the best advice from my dad did not buy one. They are now selling for £250K+ so i could have made over £160K profit, then gone and bought a house for that round here outright.

The worst bit is as i am in the army i could have rented the flat out to retrive most the cost of the mortgage. and now i could own a house and be living £500 per month better off for renting it out, gutted just a bit!!! :(

Hope I can make you feel better. Income tax on the rent, capital gains tax on the gain. Both at 40%.

So it's not as it seems:D

1. Not buying my parents house for £23k 8 years or so back Its now worth the best part of £200k!

2. Getting inot debt, a lot of debt, none of which i can account for

3. Not staying on at school and doing a-levels (I dont have the inclination to do them now)

No regrets, a few tough calls, but no, if I was to go tomorrow, I hope they'd say he enjoyed himself, although I can see just one, and that with be the current goal when I do go, because I won't reach it.

Can't ask anymore than that.

Cheers Mark.
