Yep, trying to go on a long trip every year, I love being on the bike day in day out with noting else to focus on. Czech Republic sounds an idea, presume you're talking summer '08?

Tim, I wanted to ammend some of the comments I made about Croatia. I was down there last weekend and picked up a hire car up north and took the coastal road back down to Split. Most of it was really busy but there was a section of pure sports bike bliss - big fast corners. Its jJust been resurficed and now with the new motorway means no traffic. It starts just sth of Senj and runs sth to Zadar. There are a couple of passes that cut up into the mountains as well (i only drove one on the way back). Is it worth the trip? If you have 2 weeks and can link it out of Slovenia it maybe worth it - only need a day from Ljublijana (or similar) to Split and another back - maybe taking in the inland passes. But the roads are like this pretty much all the way - maybe 100 kms worth.

Thanks for that GMonsta, it looks sweet.

The thoughts in my head are slowly gathering:

Nurburgring for the 1st weekend.

Down to the Alps,

Across alps, then some of Slovenia & Croatia, then back via the Alps.

Don't you just love it when a plan comes together!

we came back from croatia a month ago, rds at the top near Rijika were busy but it got clearer, as you got further down. excelent riding. mountain rd from Zadar was ace, toll rd to split a private race track :D and the coast rd from split to Dubrovnik, one of the best I have ever ridden. we got the ferry over to bari (a dump) and rode up through Italy.
really enjoyed it but with 6 of us it took a while, 3400 miles in two weeks.
i would probably opt to do less distance so as to see more and get more twisty rds in.
north of Nice is an area called canyon du Verdon, D955 plus offshoot rds its brilliant if your near go there, best riding i`ve done.

Planning to take the bike there in july. Only ever been in the car with kayaks, but remember the area for the river more than the roads. Did my first underground river there :D

If you're hoping to do the Gorge du Verdon, and want to stay in the area, try Castellane. We stayed there last year, and it's a cracking little place:D Our room cost us the equivalent of £28:D

I was in Corsica recently, and have thought about planning a "European Islands" trip to take in the Balearics, Corsica, Sardinia and Sicily, although after looking at how they drive/ride in Palermo, I may leave the last one out...

I also fancy going to Mugello for next years MotoGP, and making a decent trip out of it.

I will be going to Magny Cors in October (and hopefully see JT win the trophy again)

Tim,
I've just returned from a week in central Norway and there were loads of British bikers enjoying the abundance of mountain passes...not to mention the huge numbers of Norwegian and Swedish riders. The photos below were taken on Route 55 over the "roof of norway" pass. I definately wanna go back there on the bike...=P~

Met this German biker at one of the stops at the top...he was waiting for his HD riding mates...

The other side of the mountain...there are 11 hairpin bends before this house! Unfortunately being in the car it was impossible to stop and photograph them:rolleyes:
