Er....I had a nail in my 2ct rear right in the centre after about 800 miles :smt092 took them to that well known place. Fixed no probs...cold vulcanised inside. Told to go easy for the first 30 miles (only to reseat they tyre back on the rims). I asked about speed and was told they'd be fine.

OK, next is the n00b question.

Taking the rear wheel off.

Loosen nuts, pop spindle, drop the wheel out? :-)

Or do I need to be faffin about with, brake caliper, chain adjusters and the rear cog? :scratch:

Looks like option 1 to me, although thought I'd ask first.

IIRC the brake caliper stays in place (or swings down but remains bolted to the strut), but the chain adjusters loosened make it easier to get the wheel out. Should only take you 10 mins even if you've never done it before.

I was going to answer this, but mine was a curvy & the brake caliper installation is different so if you're that much of a newbie Cam, I'd better not.

Strongly recommend you get a workshop manual. If you've got the tools to do jobs you're needing guidance to use the right methods & a manual will do that.

TIP!!!!! If it has spacers then take them with you. There was a guy there when I was and he forgot his spacers. They can't balance some wheels without the spacers apparently - beats me why though :confused:

Yeah, looks straight forward enough, just the bit about not applying the brakes after removing the wheel. Might put a wee plate in there. Just incase some eejit decides to have a go.

Wasn't 100% on the chain adjusters, some folks say you don't need to loosen them. Whereas the SV book, and SV manual say you should.

Was just about to get the paddock stand out when the rain started :rolleyes: .

Thanks for the info folks. Looks like Friday before I can get it patched, so i'll be in the cage for a few days.

Which really sucks, since the traffic out to Paisley on the M8 has been horrendous the last few weeks.
