They're very different machines.

I took my SV in for its service a few weeks ago and the dealers gave me their GSX 750R demonstrator as my courtesy bike -- probably hoping to make a sale. Wonderful bike: compact, light, easy in traffic.

Too compact for me, perhaps: I kept banging my knees on the edges of the fairing and I'm not even six foot. Fours also feel so busy compared to twins. I got on the GSX-R and when I pulled off I thought the clutch was slipping. The revs appeared to be rising crazily, yet I didn't appear to be accelerating that fast. But 5,000rpm on a four feels like 10,000rpm on your SV.

In the end, though, I went for an RSV. It's a big bike, but I love the huge, low-down urge you get from the engine. There's not the buzz you form a four as it starts to really spin and things go somewhat mental. Just some enormous, great hand pushing you forwards as soon as you twist the throttle. I think it looks fantastic, with great presence.

I'm now praying for good Bank Holiday weather so I can get over to my brother's in Wiltshire (he's got a seven year old Blade) and then up to my mum's in the Midlands on the Sunday and really start enjoying the roads and the Aprilia's handling.

rode a rsvr and its pretty good, but i seemed to be hitting the limiter all the time, and really quickly, it didnt feel that fast, but then thats probably a compliment to how good it is, cos the speedo was showing scary numbers..........

i have an kwak zrx1200 so the twin was a lot different , id forgotton how different twins are,

id like an IL4 sports bike, but if it was between a 600 and a 1000twin, then it would be the twin, i expect they both ride really well, but id miss the torque if i went to a samller bike, so Aprillia for me then.

Do you mean the GSXR or the Mille? I've got a Mille (RSV-R) and I've just bought an R6. I've had an SV650 and a GSXR 750.

The Mille is a fantastic bike in so many ways - the engine is powerful and huge and torquey and so smooth. The slipper clutch stops you having to worry about the back wheel dancing behind you if you drop it down the gears too fast. It handles like a dream; it's so smooth round the bends that you can feel like you're flying.
But it's just too much bike. It's very big both in height and weight so despite its smooth handling around the twisties it's too much to manouvre around. The battery is pants and it regularly has to be jump started; the onboard computer does everything except send emails but I don't want or need that when it just runs the battery dry. And all replacement parts and services costs a small fortune.

Got the R6 on saturday and really I havn't stopped grinning since (although I wish I'd kept the GSXR). Ok it's less powerful on the acceleration but the top speed FOR ME is the same top speed that I would get on the Mille. It's small and light and buzzy and I like that.

I'll get rid of the Mille as soon as it's had it's new plastics fitted. At least I tried one and had some fun on it but overall it's the Jap IL4 for me

My brothers got one, he's had trouble with warping brake disc's and the battery not being man enough to start the bike after being stood for a while.

He fixed the battery by putting one with a higher amps rating in so it has more juice to turn the bike over and doesnt go flat so quickly. since he's done that its been fine starting wise.

I've got a K7 GSX-R 600, same as the K6 for all intents and purposes. If that's what you were asking!
