Gad! Avast there...come aboard and scupper some grog me matey, then we'll make sail for the Windies where ole One eyed Tom buried his chest of doubloons!!:king:

PS - I called two of my bikes Nasty Nick - a 500/4 and a decaying 650/750 bonny thingy which had a habit of leaving parts of itself behind so that I never finished a journey with a complete bike  :clown:

Welcome :) SV makes a fine first, second or third bike (hell, it's my sixth). Top fairing (so an S model) in my opinion is practical from a comfort factor, lower fairing is probably more of a looks thing (I personally think the SV really needs either a belly pan or full lowers) - the OEM ones are not cheap so if you are interested then try to find a bike with them already on.

The avatar, yes, be afraid, be very afraid.
The pirates - I'm actually beginning to think the films were based on Stingo :)

Hello!

Yea, an SV is a perfect first bike. Easy to ride, comfortable, cheap and bloody good fun. Give it a few thousand miles and people on "faster" bikes wont be running away from you!

Get a black one (2003 onwards, the "pointy" models as is the correct terminology around here), with the black frame, and black fairing lowers.

Hello Nick!

My name is Nick, I am 26, and I used to live in Leamington Spa until last November and I have a K3 SV650! :D

I now live in Oxford, but feel free to get in contact if you need help or advice, my mates still live around Warwick and Brum and I am up and down a fair amount.

For what it is worth, I reckon lowers look very good!
