Think I might have suggested this a little late, still you wouldnt need to worry about a rideout route .lol

Anyone who thinks it'll only go as fast as us mere mortals is on drugs, Bob McIntyre did a 100mph lap in 1957 on a Gilera race bike, and Malcolm Uphill did 99.99 in the 1970 Production TT.

Does anyone seriously think that 1950s race bikes and 1970 street bikes were better than our modern stuff? Even in the case of the SV, which as we know isn't absolutely the most sporty thing available, if nothing else the chassis is stiffer and the brakes are better, and we're not using Dunlop TT100s - modern tyres are stupendous in comparison to the rubber those riders used.

Oh, also McIntyre and Uphill are probably a dab better than you and I.

SV? 100mph lap certainly - in the right hands.

The suspension would be the limiting factor...replace that and some sticky tyres and it would easily do a fast lap. Didn't Hailwoods Ducati in 1977 only have 80 horses?

In standard trim...with a good rider then anything is possible...only one way to find out though.

Despiting my thought go against the "Merlin of the ORG" Mr.Squidly. I am still very doubt, standard SV come within 15mph of that nice man with flat cap, George.:p
