:toss: ers

Next time leave the knee sliders on and follow the :toss: ers

Take down a wee bag full of metal Saltire badges and a tube of Araldite.

Decorate the :toss: ers bike somewhere inconspicuous where it won't be noticed until the glue's rock hard

That's absolutely shocking if people can be a**eholes like that over something like where you come from what next? Maybe some idiots would prefer that everyone stay in their home town in which case alot of their local businesses and companies would suffer due to lack of tourism. As for the buzzing subject I don't think that will ever stop due to the vast amount of insecure people that feel they have something to prove. I guess all we can do is try and get on with enjoying riding safe in the knowledge that the vast majority of riders anre decent, open minded, considerate people.

Sad to say but there is a lot of that about, one of my mate's moved down to Teeside 4 years ago.. got slagged big time from the guys he worked with all the "sweaty sock" jokes etc. Got himself a bike early last year, First thing he done was bought saltire helmet's for him and the Mrs, an rang me to get him a "Sco" plate made up for the bike.. could not find anyone down there that would make one ;)
For a while he got growled at by the locals (which he found funny) but now they all nod/wave no probs.

My view... someone on a bike/scooter/hog whatever, nod wave or shake a leg at it

Thats the one reason why I'm not buying a st georges helmet as much as I want one. There will be always be some n*bs but as DD says we're not all like that. Yes i can be patrioctic (to stir) but having been on the opposite side and got stick for years for being english i wouldn't dream of doing that to anyonelse. Its not a nice feeling.

Ralph- shouldn't lower yourself to their level. The next time they nod coz they don't recognise you just talk to them. That'll shut them up.

Well Im an anglo scot, so could wear either a St George or a St Andrew AGV lid, but thinking of getting the St Andrew for me dad, and me dad put up with all sorts of stuff when he first moved down here, stroppy jock, tight with your money etc trouble was they picked on the wrong bloke, think a cross between Billy Bremner and Billy Connolly with a bit of small man syndrome thrown in. Top man. Wear what you like stuartyboy.

Knob faced knobsters as I believe the current vernacular has it.

The English are lovely, lovely people. Unless they are winning at football of course but I think that's understood :)

Having conducted your sliders off experiment, I hope you put them back on and rode all the way home shouting

Freeeeeeeedommmmm

Just goes to show that bikers are not immune to being complete w*nkers.

Just plain rude as much as anything, but you Scottish types can have the last laugh when it comes to the North Easterners

Definition of a Geordie-----A Scotsman with his brains bashed out.;)

Have worked in various UK locations over the last 15 odd years and can honestly say that either at work or play, have never experienced anything other than what I would class as "banter".

Have covered thousands of bike miles down south in most places and have always had friendly nods/waves from fellow bikers whether on the SV or dare I say it, on the Harley

If I get ignored, then so what, its not the end of the world, maybe they didnt see me until too late or maybe they just couldnt be arsed

Well I'm not from the North East and everyone's bloody friendly towards me, bikers and non-bikers alike. :D

I'm the same, btw. I would have said hello to you if I'd seen you out, but I was too busy with some mates taking the **** out of some guy with Saltire sliders ;)
